OBJECTIVES:

1.           Carry out Research Projects related to application of statistics and economics in the field of mulberry sericulture in the eastern India.

2.           Designing different scientific projects of the Institute and its nested units from statistical point of view.

3.           Drawing statistical inference and decision making out of different scientific projects.

4.           Teaching / Training Programme.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS:      

1.           Determined optimum shape and size of plot for field experimentation on irrigated mulberry in the gangetic plains of West Bengal.

2.           Suggested optimum allocation of available resources with sericultural farmers for different types and sizes of farms.

3.           Identified the factors and their contribution towards productivity of mulberry and silkworm cocoons at farmers’ level.

4.           Studied impact of specialized training on sericultural extension personnel.

2.               Development of management packages for different types and sizes of sericultural farms.

3.               A study on factors influencing sericultural productivity.
