Training Undergone:

v    Overseas Training on “Disease and pest management in mulberry sericulture” at Zhejiang Agricultural University, Hangzhou, Peoples Republic of China for 3 months during 1993.

v    Training on computer application in statistic and project management from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore during 1992.

 

Research:

v    Studied the entire life cycle, damage and control measures of Mimistra cyanura a serious pest of mulberry in the lower temperate zones of Jammu division, which was a severe problem of the state sericulture department for last 50 years.

v    Associated with the project “Collection, Characterization, evaluation, conservation and utilization of germplasm resources”. Worked as team leader of subproject ‘Characterization of silkworm germplasm resources’ and characterized as well as evaluate almost 328 accessions.

v    Associated with the project ‘Screening of high temperature and high humidity tolerant silkworm hybrids developed by various Institute suitable for West Bengal’.

v    Characterized different stages of tasar silkworm and presented the proposed descriptor in the hindi workshop on January 1997.

 

Training:

v    Trained approximately 600 candidates in non mulberry sericulture and 250 candidates from DOS of different states in mulberry sericulture.

 

Special Achievement:

v    One of the author of ‘Catalogue on Silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) Germplasm’ Vol. 1, 1997 first ever published in the world.
